In 2024 “Water Ways TV” debuted a new show, “Water Ways Ontario”, on the Global TV network and I was invited to be on the Georgian Bay episode!
It has recently been made available online and focuses on the 30,000 Islands, Stanley Boats in Parry Sound, and the Penetanguishene area. Click link below to see the full episode:

I love your blog. You have such a rich history in the 30,000 islands with your 3 generations of boaters. Like how you promote the care of the islands. Your blog will be helpful to me since I’m fairly new to the Midland area. I moved my here with my boat a couple of years ago. My retirement plan it to visit all 30,000 islands. Have been to 3 (Hope, Beckwith, and Beausoleil)…only 29,997 more to visit!
I volunteer for a non-profit called The Friends of Budd Watson Collection. Budd Watson was an Internationally recognized photographer from Midland who became famous in the 1970’s for his 30,000 Islands photographs. His images were so captivating that the Group of Seven invited him to exhibit his photographs along side their paintings. However, little is known of him now (other than a mural of him on the Midland Beer Store). Budd Watson’s family have given us access to his 56,000 photographs to catalogue, restore, and preserve. We are partnered with The Huronia Museum, The Canadian Museum of Water, and Georgian Bay Heritage League to do exhibits and fundraising.
We have some of Budd Watson’s photographs and limited edition prints for sale as a fundraiser to help us with the cost of scanning his most famous 30,000 Islands photographs. I wonder if you would be willing to share about The Friends of Budd Watson Collection on your blog? We are working at getting a website domain. However, our website content is at:

Hi Terry,
Thank you for following my website and your comments! I have looked at your info and I’m thinking you may need a little more bandwidth to get your message out – my blog only gets 1000 – 1500 views per month but my Facebook page has over 2600 followers and if I were to post about your group on that, you could then take the post and share it to a bunch of other local Facebook groups. The prints make for a great Christmas gift!
Let me know your thoughts on that.

Ok no problem, but I will need a little direction on the message you wish to convey, and also a digital copy of a photo from Budds collection – something that will attract an audience and showcase his talent as I will use this as the photo for the post.
You’ll also need to tell me how people will find you, what are your hours at the MCC? How can they purchase his prints? Can I share the website link you sent me?
You, and probably with Lynn, need to let me know what you want the public to know about your group and the fundraiser, and let me know soon so I can post it well before Christmas. Keep it short and sweet but with the info on how to purchase.
You can email me the photo and information at georgianbaybeauties@hotmail.com.

Hi Elizabeth; Here’s a suggestion for a Facebook posting: Until Dec. 31/25 gift ideas from $10 to $35. Limited Edition Photographs of Georgian Bay by Midland resident and internationally recognized photographer Budd Watson (1929-1988). Funds help the non-profit I volunteer with, The Friends of Budd Watson catalogue and preserve his entire collection. Prime Minister of Canada, Rt. Hon. John G. Diefenbaker, said “Budd Watson’s photographs are the most remarkable collection I have ever seen.”https://sites.google.com/…/buddwatson/own-a-bit-of-history
Lynn Watson Deschamp approved the Limited Edition print sale and descriptions. Attached are some images. ThanksTerryÂ

Midland and area residents – here’s a beautiful AND economical Georgian Bay Christmas gift idea that also supports our community! ❤️🇨🇦
This local not for profit group – “The Friends of Budd Watson” – has asked for my help in promoting their fundraising efforts through which they hope to raise funds to catalogue and preserve the entire photo collection of Internationally acclaimed landscape photographer and Midland resident Budd Watson (1929 – 1988).
If you are committed to buying local this Christmas, consider supporting this Midland group of volunteers and purchase a part of local history! The family have approved the sale of Georgian Bay landscape limited edition photographs until December 31, 2025, $10 – $35 each, click this link for details on how to view and purchase:

Hi Terry…just wanted to check you received my response this morning.
For some reason I couldn’t open that link you sent and also didn’t get the images attached. If possible, could you resend to me at georgianbaybeauties@hotmail.com
I can post this all tomorrow if I have some, or one, good image along with info on how the community can buy. I tried to take a screenshot of the page from that first link you sent me – the one that notes your hours and lists the cards and prints available, but it’s too big to get a good shot of the info. A working link to that page would go a long way in promoting your fundraiser.
Let me know on the link and please try sending the images to my email account noted above, Thank you!
